Qualifications:
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for the appropriate grade levels.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching math to middle or high school students, preferably within special education settings.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Proven ability to differentiate instruction for various learning abilities and styles.
  • Excellent collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, families, and support staff.
  • Familiarity with current evidence-based practices and instructional strategies in special education.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging Math instruction to students in middle and high school special education programs.
  • Adapt and modify lessons and materials to align with IEP goals and individual student strengths.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review IEPs, participate in meetings, and communicate regularly with families.
  • Provide a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Integrate technology and assistive tools to enhance student learning experiences.
