Overview

The Area Coordinator provides front‑line leadership and direction to a residence area housing between 600‑800 entrepreneurship and business residents. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive residence education program, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and developmental living environment. The Coordinator participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive residence education and resident assistant program that enhances students’ personal, social, and intellectual growth and contributes to learning outside the classroom, and further develops their understanding of residence education and housing through supervision, management, and project oversight for a specialized student population.

This is an exempt position with the following pay range: $52,354 - $58,171; the role is also eligible for bonuses based on performance and budget.

Babson College offers a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees working at least 28 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision and feedback to a staff of between 18 to 28 undergraduate Resident Assistants and one Head Resident Assistant.
  • Assists the Director and Assistant Director in creating a comprehensive residential experience for student organizations on campus through the Special Interest Housing process, Living Learning Programs, and themed living communities.
  • Conducts regular community walk‑throughs and effectively partners with the Facilities Services department.
  • Provides support and resources to students experiencing transition, personal, or mental health challenges; makes referrals as necessary.
  • Assists students in managing roommate relationships, including mediations and expectation setting.
  • Supports and assists students in the resolution of various issues, including addressing community standards violations and making appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Plans and implements a comprehensive area/building wide community development plan to meet student needs and ensures a safe, inclusive, and developmental living environment.
