Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Arts & Ideas, the Assistant Director will support JCC Greater Boston’s mission by developing and implementing engaging, enriching, and innovative programs for adults—especially ages 60+.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and grow adult class offerings.
- Design and implement a variety of culturally infused special events.
- Design and implement donor‑funded Hot Buttons, Cool Conversations Series.
- Support Boston Jewish Film during festival times.
- Coordinate class design, scheduling, instructor recruitment, program fees, and course descriptions.
- Manage space usage, scheduling logistics, and ensure alignment with building hours and operational needs.
- Serve as the primary liaison for instructors and participants, ensuring timely communication and excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote programs through targeted outreach and email campaigns.
- Evaluate classes to assess viability and budget goals.
- Develop year‑round Arts & Ideas program schedule.
- Recruit and collaborate with speakers, artists, and thought leaders locally and nationally.
- Manage program logistics, including contracts, staffing, and coordination with facilities and other internal teams.
- Build relationships with community partners to support audience development.
- Evaluate program performance, track participation, and use data and feedback to inform future planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Film, Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field, with at least 2 years of program or people‑management experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Strong understanding of adult learners, especially those 60+.
- Excellent organizational, project‑management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and social media platforms.
- Self‑starter with initiative, resourcefulness, creativity, and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work evenings and weekend programs as required.
- Competitive salary range: $60,000 – $68,000.
- Full‑time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package.
