Position: ESL Teacher - Summer 2026

EF Language Abroad is hiring part-time ESL teachers for Summer 2026 at our Brighton, Boston campus. We're looking for teachers who bring energy, creativity, and genuine engagement to every class.
Please note this position requires in-person teaching at our campus and not remote teaching

The Role

Spend your summer teaching classes of 15-17 students of varying English proficiency from all over the world utilizing EF’s cutting-edge in-house curriculum and methodology to lead interactive and hands‑on classes. Add your own “sparkle” to the lesson plans to bring them to life and ensure your students are learning as much as they are having fun. EF provides dedicated face‑to‑face training as well as online training to ensure that you are prepared for your role.

Our Academic Team will support your professional development as well as provide you with guidance throughout your tenure at the school.

We are looking for candidates to start teaching during our Summer 2026 program, running June 29 – August 21. Classes run Monday through Friday, 8:10 am – 4:00 pm, with a variety of scheduling options available. Our students range from 15 to 70+, with the majority of summer enrollees in the 15–20 age group.

All candidates must have permission to work legally in the United States. We regret that we are not able to offer any visa sponsorship.

Your responsibilities
  • Teach scheduled contact hours as scheduled by Academic Management
  • Provide high‑quality classes using our EF blended learning program
  • Complete the necessary administrative work required for classes in a timely manner
  • Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including handouts, quizzes, tests, and assignments as needed for each course
  • Help students with queries they may have and communicate this with the appropriate departments
  • Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and a natural leader in the classroom.
  • Responsible, approachable and friendly.
  • Highly organized, flexible and global minded.
  • 3 months of experience teaching ESL in a classroom setting with 15+ students (preferred).
  • ESL or TEFL certified
  • Special consideration given to candidates with CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or EFL training
  • Experience with standardized ESL exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge a plus

Director of Studies

Job Type: Part‑time, hourly

Hourly Pay:
Compensation is $20.47–$22.84 per contact hour based on qualifications and experience, plus $18.45/hour for admin and planning time (15 minutes per 80-minute period). This role is eligible for overtime for any hours over 40‑hours per week with manager approval.
