The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
POSITIONCRIMINAL JUSTICE/PROTECTIVE SERVICES CHAPTER 74 TEACHER - CTE
POSITION SUMMARYThe Criminal Justice/Protective Services program introduces students to a variety of careers including police officer, firefighter, emergency medical technician (EMT), or FBI agent.
QUALIFICATIONS- Hold and maintain a valid Massachusetts DESE certification appropriate for the grade level and subject area.
- Possess an Associate's degree or higher degree related to the Criminal Justice/Protective Services subject matter and skills to be taught, in addition to any DESE required coursework.
- Have at least four years of full-time employment experience directly related to criminal justice.
- Proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies, including but not limited to administrators, parents, teachers, students, other school staff and visitors.
- Possess good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- A sense of humor and a proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with all staff members, students, and the larger educational community.
Director of Career Vocational and Technical Education
RESPONSIBILITIESChapter 74 Program - CVTE Criminal Justice/Protective Services Instructor:
- Surefully delivering instruction and content standards on topics related to criminal justice and proceedings as identified in the strands of the DESE Chapter 74 Frameworks.
- Maintain and supervise student membership, involvement and competition in DECA.
- Employ a variety of research-based instructional strategies and instructional media consistent with the capabilities, needs and physical limitations of students.
- Educate students in underlying principles of technology, planning, best business practices, employability skills, and technical skills related to the DESE Chapter 74 Frameworks as well as responsibilities for School-based instruction.
- Teach and engage a diverse student population, including students with limited proficiency in English and/or with special educational needs.
In accordance with the Fall River Educators' Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding.
FY 26-27 Salary Range: $59,491 to $105,164
