Assistant Director for Kids Academy Program

Family Service Association is looking for an Assistant Director for our Kids Academy (KA) program. This is a Full Time (35 hour per week) position with a Monday through Friday schedule, and is budgeted to start at $46,410 annually. The hours may vary based on program needs.

The Assistant Director works in partnership with the Program Director to maintain high-quality programming and assumes responsibility for site operations in the absence of the Director. This role focuses on supporting implementation of program systems and ensuring consistent daily operations as the program grows toward full capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervision of education staff by providing day-to-day support, coaching, onboarding assistance, scheduling support, timesheet support, and guidance to ensure effective program operations
  • Support implementation and monitoring of a high-quality, inclusive curriculum, including classroom walkthroughs, lesson plan support, and program-wide themes including seasonal and holiday activities
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations, FSA policies, and accreditation standards, including maintaining required documentation and supporting readiness for licensing visits
  • Support daily program operations including staffing coordination, maintaining ratios, and ensuring classrooms operate in a safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate manner
  • Support implementation of program systems established by the Program Director and ensure consistent daily execution of operations across classrooms and program areas
  • Provide support in addressing child behavioral concerns in accordance with the Child Guidance Policy and participate in parent meetings as appropriate
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of program documentation including IPMs, facility checklists, and general compliance tracking
  • Complete and monitor facility checklists and assist in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the childcare environment
  • Provide consistent front desk support including answering phones, communicating with families, and maintaining a welcoming and professional environment
  • Support family communication and engagement, including assisting with meetings, events, and program activities
  • Serve as Administrator in Charge in the absence of the Program Director and ensure continuity of daily program operations
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, agency meetings, and community events as outlined through FSA policy and EEC regulations
  • Maintain professional communication with families, staff, community partners, and agency representatives

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Must meet all EEC requirements of a Director II certification

Strongly Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an early childhood or childcare setting
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience supporting staff development and coaching
  • Experience with curriculum implementation and classroom quality support
  • Familiarity with EEC regulations and licensing requirements
