Our client is looking for an Senior Fixture Design Engineer for a project and below is the detailed requirement.
Job Title:Senior Fixture Design Engineer Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of overall experience in fixture design, tooling design, or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong experience designing assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, test fixtures, jigs, gauges, and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) for manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software for 3D modelling, detailed drawings, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM/DFA, and mechanical design principles
. - Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes, production tooling, automation equipment, and robotic fixture design.
- Experience managing the complete tooling lifecycle, including concept development, design, fabrication, validation, and production launch.
- Strong understanding of supplier coordination, tooling fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and production readiness.
- Experience supporting APQP, PPAP, process validation, and capability studies is preferred.
- Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and external suppliers.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, project management, and leadership skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, jigs, gauges, inspection fixtures, test fixtures, and robotic EOAT to support production and NPI programs.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, GD&T documentation, and tolerance analyses while ensuring manufacturability and quality.
- Lead tooling projects from concept, design, fabrication, validation, commissioning, and production launch
. - Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and customers to define tooling requirements and conduct design reviews.
- Coordinate with tooling vendors and suppliers to oversee fabrication, procurement, FAT, installation, and production readiness.
- Support prototype builds, pilot production, process validation, APQP/PPAP activities, and manufacturing capability improvements.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues, implement engineering changes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, safety, and cost.
