A leading technology company focused on advanced component design and manufacturing is seeking a Lead Reliability Engineer to support reliability testing, analysis, and product qualification initiatives.
This role will be responsible for driving reliability engineering efforts for complex, high-performance components and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in reliability analysis, accelerated life testing, statistical modeling, and failure investigation within a highly technical product development environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute reliability test strategies, qualification plans, and reliability assessments for advanced components and systems
- Lead accelerated life testing, stress testing, burn-in testing, and qualification activities
- Analyze reliability data to evaluate lifetime performance, degradation trends, failure rates, and product risk
- Apply statistical modeling techniques to support reliability predictions and engineering decisions
- Identify reliability drivers related to product design, materials, manufacturing processes, and component interfaces
- Investigate failure mechanisms and perform root cause analysis to improve product performance and reliability
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to drive continuous improvement
- Prepare technical reports and communicate data-driven recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience OR PhD with industrial experience in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related technical field
- Experience with reliability engineering for semiconductor devices, electronic components, optoelectronic devices, or other advanced technologies
- Strong understanding of reliability statistics and lifetime data analysis, including Weibull analysis, reliability modeling, probability distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and uncertainty analysis
- Experience designing experiments and developing statistical test plans
Experience with accelerated life testing and degradation modeling - Ability to analyze reliability data using Python, R, MATLAB, or similar statistical software
- Experience with advanced component packaging, materials reliability, and interface reliability
- Familiarity with failure analysis techniques such as microscopy, SEM, FIB, EDX, or similar analytical methods
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical findings
- Experience working in a highly technical manufacturing or product development environment
