BOT Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a BOT Project Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2).

Location:

Remote or Juno Beach, FL. You will support solar farm design and construction for build‑own‑transfer (BOT) projects delivered to external customers. You will be the engineering lead for customer‑contracted projects, managing 3rd‑party contractor teams while ensuring technical execution aligns with negotiated contractual, performance, and milestone requirements. You will represent the engineering function in customer‑facing and commercially sensitive settings, negotiating critical technical and scope‑related issues with senior engineers, commercial representatives, independent engineers, and officers of other organizations and companies.

• Project engineering responsibilities span from proposal support and customer negotiation through construction, commissioning, and warranty.
• The BOT Project Engineer plays an active role in customer negotiations, helping develop and refine technical contract documents, evaluating customer‑driven requirements, and representing the engineering team in live technical discussions.
• Follow contract execution, interpreting technical agreement documents.
• Maintain direct customer interface, support independent engineer reviews, and guide resolution of scope and technical disputes, coordinating across engineering, project management, procurement, development, legal, and other teams.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical).
• 5+ years of engineering experience, with demonstrated technical ownership on complex, externally delivered projects.
• Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and project agreement requirements, translating them into clear, executable engineering scopes.
• Experience coordinating across teams (e.g., engineering, project management, procurement, development, legal) to support compliant project execution.
• Experience engaging with external partners such as customers, EPC contractors, vendors, or partners in technically and commercially sensitive environments.

Base salary range: $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
