Overview

The Boulder Site is home to a specialized technical operations/CMC team for oligonucleotides and RNAi therapeutics, working alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations, and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and teams in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Position

Senior Finance Partner – Boulder

This role serves as the key financial anchor for CMC Finance, ensuring robust planning, reliable reporting, and proactive financial insights. The Finance Partner will support data‑driven decision‑making, act as a financial advisor to senior leadership, and maintain financial discipline across the organization.

Relationships

Reports directly to the Associate Director of CMC Finance (based in Denmark), with a dotted reporting line to the Site Head in Boulder.

Responsibilities
  • Own cost management and resource allocation during budget cycles and ongoing operations/reporting.
  • Communicate business unit’s financial and operational performance trends, both historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics.
  • Provide recommendations and strategic implications to leaders and align with the central CMC Finance team.
  • Lead the business unit’s planning process, incorporating demand trends, business risks and opportunities into forecasts.
  • Support long‑range planning, business development/valuation modelling, and ad‑hoc analysis.
  • Identify and communicate all risks and opportunities against the existing forecast and collaborate with budget owners to manage spend vs. plan.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration, aligning priorities within Boulder, CMC Finance, and the broader organization.
  • Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including presentations for leadership review.
  • Build and present month‑end close reporting to senior leaders, anticipating new reporting needs.
  • Support continuous improvement within finance to streamline processes and reporting, adding value and insights to the business.
Physical Requirements

0–10% overnight travel required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of experience required; equivalent experience with an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) acceptable.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field required; MBA, CPA preferred.
  • Significant experience (minimum 4 years) in FP&A, financial management/partnering, project management, and/or management consulting, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong focus on process management, optimization, and structured workflows.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes/controls and highly proficient in Excel‑based modelling.
  • Ambitious mindset with continuous improvement approach and a desire to simplify operations.
  • High level of independence, integrity, and accountability.
  • Strong ability to condense complicated data into key messages and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise and proven ability to improve processes.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $101,000 to $155,400, with eligibility for company bonus based on individual and company performance. Additional long‑term incentive compensation and potential company vehicle benefits may apply.
