Job Summary

The role involves performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, operating radiographic equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. It requires collaboration with physicians and adherence to radiation protection standards.

• Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using various equipment and devices.
• Moves x‑ray equipment into the specified position and adjusts exposure factors.
• Operates mobile x‑ray equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at the patient’s bedside.
• Transfers images to the PACS system and checks image quality and identification.
• Positions patients on examination tables and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views as requested by physicians.
• Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies, explains procedures, and answers patient questions.
• Assumes care for the physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations.
• Applies radiographic protection principles using beam restriction devices and patient shielding.
• Coordinates work to maximize productivity and efficiency following departmental policies.
• Evaluates images in PACS for technical quality.
• Assists physicians with administration of radiographic contrast media or its direct administration when trained.
• Follows established policies, procedures, and protocols set by the department and ARRT.
• Participates in professional development activities and meets continuing education requirements.
• Maintains an ethical relationship with patients, physicians, and personnel, ensuring confidentiality.
• Provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co‑workers.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Registered by ARRT or eligible and registered within one year.
• Valid Massachusetts State License from the Massachusetts Radiation Control Board in Radiography.
• BLS – Basic Life Support certification.

40 hours per week, rotating days/evenings: 4 p‑12 a, 3 p‑11 p (occurring), 10 a‑6 p, 11 a‑7 p. Includes weekends and rotating holidays. Sign‑on bonus eligible.

Cape Cod Hospital – Hyannis, Massachusetts.

Hourly: $34.87 – $49.30

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires and may be adjusted after considering experience, skill set, and education. Benefits include healthcare/dental/vision and retirement.
