Job Title: Surgical Technologist I

Location: Charlton Memorial Hospital – Fall River, MA

Hours: 40 hrs per week

Shift: Day/Evening, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm with weekend, holiday, and on‑call rotation

Sign‑on Bonus: $7,500 for new hire (eligible rehires after 1 year)

** Available to regular status employees scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

• Reports to the Manager or designee.
• Assists the surgical team during the intra‑operative phase.
• Provides an aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment.
• Prepares the operating room, supplies instruments, and assembles them.
• Maintains sterile fields, hands‑off instruments, and initiates counts throughout procedures.
• Performs on‑call duties as needed.

• Completion of 4 years of high school and additional specialized courses or training.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential issued by a nationally recognized certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and Association of Surgical Technologists, obtained within 12 months of graduation or within 6 months of hire if more than 12 months from graduation.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Preferred: at least one year of related work experience.
• Requirement: fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19, or exemption with signed statement.

Pay rate determined based on level of experience.
