Overview
Infusion Pharmacist II oversees preparation, compounding, order verification, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals in oncology or sterile compounding, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. Located in Boston, Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in cancer research and patient care.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesSkills and Abilities
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Work effectively as a member of unit and cross‑functional teams.
- Possess working knowledge and ability to use required technology.
- Prioritize and accept additional responsibilities based on changing needs.
- Utilize references and drug information sources.
- Resolve typical problems within scope and appropriately elevate when needed.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills (analyze information objectively and make reasoned judgments).
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy, plus:
- 3 years of hospital pharmacy, ambulatory care, or sterile compounding experience, or 5 years of retail pharmacy experience with 2 years of oncology experience; or completion of a PGY1 residency.
Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Some satellite locations require additional licensure.

Special Working ConditionsRoutine direct exposure to chemotherapeutic agents, biologic agents, investigational agents, gene therapy, and potentially hazardous chemicals. Potential for sharps injuries and exposure to infectious patients or materials. Rotating shifts required (weekends/evenings excluded).

PayThe hiring range is $ – $, based on market pay structures and individual qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
