SAH Echocardiogram Technician

SUMMARY:

Perform and initially interpret Cardiac Echo Studies including Two-Dimensional Echo, Doppler, and Contrast Studies. • Provide superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients.
• Prepare patients for Echo.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Maintain monthly statistics.
• Communicate with cardiologists, primary care physicians, and other Steward Medical Group departments to facilitate delivery of services.
• Provide referring physicians with preliminary interpretation and deliver all study results to physicians for formal interpretation.
• Support medical practice initiatives for performance improvement.
• Maintain a daily activities log.
• Use and maintain all cardiac ultrasound equipment.
• Inform physicians of abnormal study results that may require immediate response under the direction of cardiologists.
• File and send Echocardiogram reports to proper patient records and referring physicians.
• When necessary, telephone results to physicians.
• Take necessary steps to ensure patient safety and comfort.

• Five (5) or more years of experience performing Echocardiograms (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service skills.
• Ability to operate equipment and provide accurate preliminary interpretation of test results.
• Ability to maintain the safety, integrity, and comfort of patients at all times.

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer is required.

Pay Range: $39.88 - $58.77 per hour.
