PRN SLPs Needed!
Primarily responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing Speech services in accordance with current applicable federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations. To ensure the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct Speech therapy services as well as its programs and activities in accordance with current regulations and guidelines that govern the skilled nursing facility.
- Assumes responsibility for the assessment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient
- Assumes responsibility for the care of patients appropriate to the age of the patient
- Maintains and completes accurate documentation, department records and reports.
- Ensures effective communication regarding ST programs.
- Contributes to the daily management of patient care and rehabilitation personnel.
- Maintains commitment to professional growth and competency.
- Operates and maintains equipment and environment in a safe and orderly manner.
- Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the facility.
- Contributes to the effective operation of the facility by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
- Maintains an efficiency standard of 75% weekly to meet expected facility benchmarks.
- Participates with discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans.
- Performs evaluations/screens in a timely and efficient manner.
- Completed documentation in a timely manner in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintains appropriate continuing education credits in accordance with state regulations.
- Maintains a positive work environment for residents and coworkers.
- Ensures proper HIPAA guidelines are followed and maintained.
- Working with the RD, evaluates, develops, organizes and implements resident care programs through the utilization of selected ST procedures in individual and group sessions
- Manages caseload in all areas of identifying residents through screening process and scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining productivity expectations
- Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in ST to be continued upon discharge
- Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all ST documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures
- Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards
- Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines
- Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy. Fosters feelings of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding
- Knows and complies with Residents’ Bill of Rights. Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately
- Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RD and Regional Operations Specialist immediately
Good physical and mental health. Some lifting, fine hand eye coordination, and good hearing acuity is involved. Visual and hearing acuity to detect changes in residents’ conditions and respond to pages. Ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, co-workers, medical personnel, regulatory agencies and consultants.
