Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. Health First Family Care Center, Inc. “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care.
WIC Nutritionist SummaryThe WIC Nutritionist is responsible for providing nutrition care to women, infants, and children under the supervision of the Senior Nutritionist; participates in the planning, development, and evaluation of participant counseling, education strategies, and nutrition policies; and acts as an aid in making the WIC Department a synergistic, harmonious and productive entity integrated with other Health First Family Care Center, Inc.’s
component functions to fulfill the goals and mission of Health First and to contribute to the overall mission, purpose and objective of Health First health services.
Mon, Wed, Thurs 8:30am – 5:00pm;
Tues 10:00am – 6:30pm;
Fri 8:00am – 4:30pm. One Saturday per month 9:00am – 1:00pm.
$24.00 – $29.00 per hour*
- The pay range represents Health First’s good faith estimate for this role at the time of posting, in compliance with applicable laws. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and budget considerations. Candidates with less direct experience may be placed at the lower end of the range, while those with more significant or specialized experience may be considered at the higher end.
3.2 weeks of paid time off (PTO), 3 personal days, and 11.5 paid holidays; employer contributed health, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability and retirement contributions; voluntary flexible spending accounts and disability/critical illness coverage; and employee discounts, referral program, reimbursable licensing fees, tuition reimbursement, and continuing education credits.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, foods and nutrition, or nutrition education is required. Registration with the American Dietetic Association is preferred.
- One year of experience in clinical or community nutrition is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese/CV Creole is preferred.
- Must submit a CORI Release Form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
- High level of customer service and a positive approach to work with patients. Projects positive attitude about the department and the health center, and offers services to ensure positive experience.
- Ability to maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills to effectively communicate with patients.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
