Occupational Therapist, Adult Psych (TMBP)

Purpose of Position: To develop, coordinate and implement occupational therapy segments of treatment in coordination with program staff, addressing functional activities such as goal‑oriented therapy to facilitate meaningful independent living; and to provide activities that assess and help improve the psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and physical functional behavior of patients.

• Conduct occupational assessments, sensory needs assessments, reassessments, and evaluate patients' current cognitive, functional, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and vocational/avocational skills.
• Utilize evaluation methods appropriate to the client’s age, education, cultural and ethnic background, medical status, and functional ability.
• Participate in the development of patients' treatment plans, including discharge planning goals, based on information received from assessments.
• Guide patient selection of individual tasks or projects that are appropriate to their defined needs and goals, encouraging and facilitating patient participation in activities.
• Assist and teach patients in individual and/or group work, modifying teaching interventions based on the evaluation process.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Implement interventions, including crisis management procedures, in collaboration with the treatment team; manage utilization of van and transport patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Participate in committees, quality assessment and improvement activities, and attend continuing education programs specific to providing psychiatric care for the population being treated.
• Comply with all established policies and procedures.
• Perform other work‑related duties as directed or requested.

• Entry level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Occupational Therapy Registration preferred.
• Holds current National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Complete Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within one month of the new position.
• Complete BLS Certification within three months of the new position and maintain it.

Temp (may become permanent). 32 hours per week, rotating days, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Position works in both Inpatient Behavioral Health and Partial Hospital Program, including weekends & holidays.

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
