Outpatient Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities
• Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results
• Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans
• Administer manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and using assistive and supportive devices
• Complete billing sheet accurately by end of day
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
• Perform patient assessment and establish a plan of care
• Provide in-service education programs for nursing personnel as needed
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation
  
  Discuss evaluation, goals, and treatment with both patient and family
• Participate in hospital-wide quality process improvement
• Supervise PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program required
• Physical Therapist [Massachusetts
  -or
  - Rhode Island License] required
• Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License preferred
• Experience completing an internship or apprenticeship program 1-2 years preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems
