Open and continuous posting for full-time positions. Actively seeking to fill positions on all shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides rehabilitative services to persons with major mental illness in ACCS (residential).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans for persons served, and use skills to access resources to achieve treatment goals, manage symptoms, and live productive lives.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered atmosphere while engaging persons served in Rehabilitation and Recovery.
  • Assist persons served in developing independent living skills (e.g., personal hygiene, nutrition, cooking, housekeeping, clothing maintenance, money management, and transportation) using motivational interviewing, counseling techniques, role modeling, and other individualized or group best practices.
  • Engage individuals in meaningful activities (recreational, educational, health and fitness) to foster improved quality of life.
  • Assist with coping strategies, natural supports, and safety planning as needed.
  • Knowledge of medications used in the program, including indications, risks, and side effects; educate persons served on medications using MAP-related material and training.
  • Support development and implementation of Individual Action Plans through observation and engagement to help learn skills for successful community living.
  • Transport or arrange transportation for persons served as needed.
Special Requirements
  • MAP Certification – must pass MAP certification within 6 months of entering the position or during 3 examination opportunities, and maintain certification while in the program.
  • Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual (Portuguese, Spanish, Khmer) is desirable.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience in the human service field, especially with individuals with mental illness or other disabilities.
DMH Mission Statement

The Dr. John

C. Corrigan Mental Health Center/Fall River Site provides comprehensive services to adults and children, including a 16-bed acute inpatient unit, Case Management, Day Treatment Program, and Adult Community Clinical Services. The mission is to provide person-centered care and to promote recovery, resiliency, growth, and independence for those served and their families, while fostering employee growth.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
None. Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license at a class level specific to assignment. Based on assignment, upon successful completion of training, obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and MAP certifications.

Salary placement is determined by experience, education, and internal guidelines. For bargaining unit positions, compensation follows the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
