Job Overview

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on‑site and/or remote. You ensure effective communication with the radiologist, team members, patients, and customers, particularly those working in the mobile environment. When required, you train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and/or MR technologist assistants.

• Ensure patient safety, including pre‑screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique; may require remote MR technologist assistant oversight.
• Produce high‑quality diagnostic images on multiple MR systems as required.
• Use all channels of communication to address concerns, solve problems, and resolve conflict.
• Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
• Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR technologist assistants on‑site and/or remote.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT, or ARRT in lieu of ARRT (excluding ARRT).
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
• Technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
• MR registered technologist (RT(MR)) or ARMRIT:
  No experience required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• COVID‑19 vaccination is/ may be a condition of employment.
• Local travel may be required.
• Preferred:
  Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience; registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT; 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

• May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
• Exposure to a strong magnetic field.
• May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious or communicable diseases when interacting with patients.
• More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
• Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in MA is $41.00 - $58.00/hr actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
