Billing Specialist

Our client, a multi-location OBGYN practice in the Newton MA area, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, coding, and collections. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.

This is a tight knit group of employees with years of tenure. They have expanded and are looking for a hands on biller that is an excellent communicator - both internally and externally.

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Review and appeal denied or unpaid claims
• Utilize medical coding knowledge (ICD-9, ICD-10) for accurate billing
• Maintain patient billing records and update information as needed
• Collaborate with medical staff to clarify billing discrepancies
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and overdue payments
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

• ICD-10: 3 years (Preferred)

• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of ICD codes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment
