Respiratory Therapist – CONTINUOUS (260003SU)

This is an open and continuous posting for part‑time, 24‑ and 36‑hour positions working 12‑hour shifts for day and night schedules.

12‑hour shifts, days off assigned; weekend coverage required (every 3rd weekend).

• Administers pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures.
• Observes and monitors signs and symptoms, general behavior, and physical response to respiratory care treatment and diagnostic testing.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement an appropriate care plan based on patient assessment.
• Promotes continuous learning and collaborates as a member of a self‑directed team.
• Works efficiently as a team member within and across clinical settings to provide quality service to hospital units.
• Demonstrates competence to meet age‑specific patient needs in a specialty area.
• Maintains accurate prescribed patient records and documentation such as progress, quarterly and annual notes, and META records.
• Provides information to appropriate personnel during meetings and shift changes to ensure consistency of care.
• Participates in training sessions, staff meetings, and educational seminars to enhance job skills and knowledge.

• A current and valid license as a Respiratory Therapist issued by the Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care.
• Knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices.
• Effective communication with staff and patients.
• Critical thinking and the ability to handle moderately complex issues.
• Understanding of emergency medical procedures and their application.
• Ability to remain calm, act quickly, and exercise sound judgment in emergencies.
• Information gathering through interaction and examination of records.
• Establishes rapport and communicates effectively with diverse groups.
• Computer proficiency for accurate patient data entry.
• Responsive to patient needs and treatment responses.

• Experience delivering care to complex patient populations, including acute chronic conditions, behavioral and mental health illnesses, and inmates.
