Job Description
Position Title: Human Resource Generalist
Location: Boston, MA
Anticipated
Start Date:
ASAP
Expected Duration: 7 Months
Job Type: Contract Placement [FULL TIME (>=30 HRS WEEKLY), [CONTRACT], [ON-SITE]
Pay Range: $31.50/hr on W2 – $32.50/hr on W2
Schedule: Mon‑Fri, 9:00am‑5:00pm (7.5 hours with 30 min lunch)
Requirements- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong business writing skills.
- Proficiency in Access, Excel, and Word.
- General knowledge of Human Resource policies and processes in a large organization.
- Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, pull conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations governing the state personnel system.
- Knowledge of compensation/salary setting rules and regulations within HR guidelines.
- General knowledge of state and federal benefit and leave policies.
- Human Resources Professional Certificate (desired).
- Manages the staffing requisition/job posting process on state internal hiring system, reviewing requisitions for accuracy and compliance, guiding hiring managers, launching approval process, and posting requisitions to ensure quality recruitment.
- Manages candidate pools; vets recommended candidates by assessing profiles/credentials and submitting selected applicants for background checks.
- Recommends salaries for approval by following state guidelines or bargaining unit contracts.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews of all hiring recommendations to ensure procedural compliance.
- Conducts internal projects and information requests that involve the review and analysis of personnel information, preparation of findings and recommendations.
- Provides quality customer service to employees by researching employment records and personnel administration rules to provide accurate responses.
- Maintains confidentiality of personnel information by following the DOR’s Confidentiality Policy to safeguard employee data.
- Writes internal and external communications by drafting letters, instructions, forms and memorandums.
- Other duties as assigned.
