Core Knowledge & Skills- Advanced network security, cryptography, vulnerability assessment
- Regulatory compliance and access/governance principles
- Conducts security assessments, handles incidents, implements policies
- Configures advanced security settings and manages security devices
- Conducts thorough assessments, produces clear documentation
- Improves practices, works independently within project scope
- Participates in team projects, shares knowledge, coordinates with other teams
- Mentors junior staff
- Advises internal teams, optimizes processes, evaluates technologies
- Coordinates vendor support
For this position, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer – Mid. AIS is supporting a federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Owns and manages the development of Info Sec engineering designs and implementation
- Identifies security issues and risks, and develops mitigation plans for standards for cloud implementations
- Architects, designs, implements, supports, and evaluates security‑focused tools and services
- Oversees assessment and mitigation of system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
- Validates system security requirements definition and analysis
- Establishes system security designs
- Supports implementation of security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures and verification of security requirements
- Designs and implements security controls for cloud environments aligned to applicable frameworks (e.g., NIST)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments
- IAT‑2, one or more cloud certifications
- Active Secret clearance (or higher)
- Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices
- Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems
The targeted base salary range for this role is $80,000–$121,000 per year. This range is a guideline; the final offer will be based on skillset, experience, education, certifications, location, and other factors.
