Amazon’s Robotic Delivery & Packaging Innovation (RDPI) organization is located in the greater Boston area, with hubs in Seattle and Europe. Our diverse teams design, test, and build autonomous robots, manipulation systems, and packaging automation solutions, focusing on autonomous movement, AI, machine learning, simulation, robotic management software, and predictive analytics.
The RDPI Supply Chain organization sources and manufactures a portfolio of robotics and automation technologies. The Strategic Sourcing team seeks a Sr. Global Category Manager for Electrical Control Panels and Rack whose strong technical background supports panel manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and electrical systems engineering.
Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Strategy- Serve as a technical subject‑matter expert, leveraging engineering expertise to understand technology, architecture, and manufacturing processes.
- Translate complex technical specifications into clear sourcing strategies that consider efficiency, availability, scalability, and risk.
- Define and execute sourcing strategies aligned with product roadmaps and business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic supplier relationships and complex contracts.
- Drive global initiatives, designing a multi‑region supply chain for cost optimization, risk mitigation, and lead‑time reduction.
- Own supplier performance management through scorecards and business reviews with senior stakeholders.
- Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25%).
- Lead large‑scale initiatives spanning multiple teams and geographies.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and program teams to define technical requirements, ensuring sourcing strategies meet cost, quality, and capability targets.

- 6+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
- Experience in developing strategies that influence organizational leadership decisions.
- Experience managing cross‑functional programs and coordinating release schedules.
- Experience with technology transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ME, EE, CE, SW) or related technical field.
- 6+ years in supply chain, commodity management, and supplier management in a high‑volume, global manufacturing environment.
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.
- Experience negotiating and executing complex legal agreements.
