Job Overview

Seeking a Senior VP of Product Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams, shape the technical direction, and execute a suite of innovative products/platforms around Analytics & Insights for Biopharma companies. The role requires strategic thinking, technical leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders to align technical strategies with business goals and drive cutting‑edge analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the engineering lead for the Insights Platform, setting the technical vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and product features.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
  • Oversee the design and development of various platform modules, ensuring seamless integration across insights and customer engagement products.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team, including offshore development partners, to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
  • Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and deliverables to meet business objectives.
  • Design and implement robust data architectures for efficient processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technology stacks, tools, and frameworks that support scalability, flexibility, and innovation.
  • Oversee API development and integration points to ensure seamless interoperability with external systems and data sources.
  • Design, develop, and deploy multi‑tenant and SaaS architectures that ensure efficient resource utilization, data isolation, and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for data security and privacy, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance to enhance speed, reliability, and user experience.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Data Science, and Marketing teams to align product delivery.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders effectively.
  • Implement software development best practices, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Develop a robust feedback loop to incorporate user insights and data analytics for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in web application development and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams, preferably in a global or offshore setting.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial analytics and customer engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources such as prescription data, sales data, engagement data, electronic health records (EHRs), and claims data.
  • Ability to leverage these data sets to generate meaningful business insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharma industry is a plus.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Agile and Dev Ops practices.
  • Background in data science or machine learning, hands‑on experience in recommendation system development.
  • Experience working in a startup environment or leading a product from inception to market.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
  • Understanding of GDPR and data privacy regulations as they pertain to analytics platforms.
