Responsibilitiesand Scope
The Chief Nursing Officer will champion a Magnet‑inspired professional practice model, shared governance, evidence‑based resources, virtual nursing, optimized EHR tools, AI‑enabled decision support, and robust nurse wellbeing initiatives. The role will guide an integrated administrative and management ecosystem that connects executive operations, clinical leadership, and performance improvement across the administrative suite.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CNO partners closely with the COO, CMO, CFO, and service‑line leaders while providing strategic direction to Nursing Directors, Managers, Educators, Quality, Infection Prevention, Case Management, and Clinical Informatics.
Responsibilities include:
- Patient safety, throughput, staffing, and budgeting oversight
- Accreditation readiness and equity initiatives
- Experience improvement and continuous process optimization
- Strategic staffing, retention, and clinical education initiatives
- Interprofessional collaboration and simulation lab utilization
- Academic affiliations and research participation to elevate nursing practice
