General Manager - Powersports Dealership
New England
OverviewA high-performing powersports dealership in New England is seeking a proven Powersports General Manager to lead daily operations, strengthen department performance, and support continued growth.
This is not a maintenance role. The dealership is already performing well and needs a hands‑on leader who understands the full operation, including Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, inventory, customer experience, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for powersports, a strong competitive drive, and a clear understanding that long‑term dealership success depends on strong Service and Parts departments, not just unit sales. This person must know the difference between managing people and leading them. That means setting expectations, holding people accountable, providing training and tools, and helping employees grow before expecting them to perform independently.
Key Responsibilities- Full ownership of dealership P&L, including revenue, margins, expenses, cash flow, and net profit
- Lead and develop department heads across Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and operations
- Drive unit sales, inventory strategy, F&I performance, and gross profit production
- Strengthen Service and Parts performance, technician productivity, customer retention, and profitability
- Use Lightspeed and dealership reporting tools to monitor performance and make data‑driven decisions
- Implement KPI‑driven accountability across all departments
- Manage inventory levels, aging units, floorplan exposure, and seasonal product strategy
- Elevate customer experience, CSI, online reputation, and local market presence
- Ensure employees are trained, supported, and equipped before working independently
- Build systems and strategies that support continued growth and scalability
- Proven General Manager or senior dealership leadership experience
- Genuine passion for powersports and the customer lifestyle
- Experience across Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, inventory, and operations
- Strong understanding of dealership financials, P&L, margins, expenses, and cash flow
- Working knowledge of Lightspeed or a comparable dealership management system
- Strong appreciation for fixed operations as a driver of profitability and customer loyalty
- Competitive mindset, bulletproof work ethic, and strong follow‑through
- Leadership style built on accountability, patience, training, communication, and team development
- Ability to identify potential, mentor employees, and build a stronger team over time
- Powersports background strongly preferred; related dealership experience may be considered
