Base salary range for this opportunity is $150,000-$175,000.

Job Summary

The Senior Plant Director is the cultural leader and performance owner of multiple facilities, responsible for creating an environment where safety and quality are non‑negotiable, plans are executed with discipline, and people are held accountable for results. This role sets the tone for how work gets done, ensuring that all plants consistently deliver safe operations, high‑quality product, reliable service, and competitive cost performance.

The Plant Director builds a culture where problems are surfaced early, standards are followed without exception, and continuous improvement is part of daily work—not a side effort. While corporate functions define strategy, standards, and systems for Safety, Planning, and Maintenance, the Senior Plant Director owns site‑level execution, behavior, and outcomes—ensuring those systems are lived every shift and every day at each of the plants that they are responsible for.

Responsibilities
  • Plant Performance & Execution
    • Own overall plant performance across safety, quality, service, and cost
    • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production commitments
    • Drive schedule attainment, labor efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction
    • Lead daily operating rhythms and performance reviews
    • Serve as the single point of accountability for each site’s results
  • Safety (Dotted‑line to Corporate Safety)
    • Lead a visible, values‑based safety culture
    • Execute all corporate safety standards and programs without exception
    • Support audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions
    • Address unsafe conditions and behaviors immediately
    • Corporate Safety owns strategy and systems; the Senior Plant Director owns execution and behavior at each site
  • Planning & Schedule Execution (Dotted line to Corporate Planning)
    • Execute approved production plans and demand assumptions
    • Manage short‑term plan adjustments for labor, material, or equipment constraints
    • Lead plan‑versus‑actual execution reviews
    • Escalate risks early and clearly
  • Maintenance & Reliability (Dotted line to Corporate Maintenance)
    • Ensure maintenance activities are effectively executed on site
    • Support PM compliance, asset care, and downtime reduction
    • Partner on shutdowns, priorities, and critical assets
  • Financial & Cost Management
    • Manage each site’s operating budgets and controllable costs
    • Drive cost‑per‑pound improvement initiatives
    • Support capital execution within corporate approval frameworks
  • Cross‑Functional Integration
    • Coordinate across Operations, Safety, Planning, Maintenance, QA, HR, and Engineering
    • Ensure enterprise initiatives are adopted and sustained locally
    • Communicate risks and opportunities proactively
  • Culture, Leadership & People Development
    • Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, and respect
    • Set clear expectations for standards, behavior, and performance
    • Lead, coach, and develop the plant leadership teams
    • Ensure strong frontline leadership, engagement, and communication
    • Execute corporate talent, development, and succession processes
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate Degree in Business or Operations Management or related field required. Advanced degree is desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in business management, with at least five in a manufacturing management position.
  • Ability to lead, plan and manage a diverse manufacturing business.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to recruit and motivate team members.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and administrative skills.
