Join our team as a CMM Technician in Shrewsbury, MA.
The CMM Technician ensures parts and components adhere dimensionally to engineering drawings and specifications. This position requires prompt execution of inspections to maintain component quality and ensure timely shipments to customers. The technician programs coordinate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and conducts dimensional inspections on castings, metal and plastic materials, and components. Responsibilities also include visual inspections, Positive Material Identification (PMI), and other inspections to verify quality.
Responsibilities- Develop, execute, and maintain CMM programs using PC‑DMIS or FARO CAM2 software.
- Measure parts using equipment such as verniers, micrometers, thread gauges, optical/digital comparators, and other precision instruments.
- Perform visual inspections and PMI as required.
- Review documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Document inspection results and verify operator measurements.
- Provide the shop floor with the proper inspection tools and support.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience with at least 4 years of CMM inspection/programming, preferably using PC‑DMIS software.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments, including comparators, dial indicators, verniers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, supervisors, and engineers.
- Competitive hourly wage: $28.00–$37.00 per hour.
