Pay Rate: $30 - $43 per hour (+ shift differential: 15%-30% depending on shift)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Devens, MA
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
- Weekend 1st Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Weekend 2nd Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
The Manufacturing Specialist supports hands‑on manufacturing operations by driving continuous improvement, troubleshooting production issues, and assisting in the development and refinement of manufacturing processes and equipment. This role operates in a fast‑paced, high‑change environment and collaborates closely with engineers and technicians to improve quality, reduce defects, and increase production efficiency. The specialist also contributes to prototype builds, equipment commissioning, and documentation of manufacturing systems.
Job Responsibilities- Brainstorm, trial, and implement process improvements to reduce build time and defects
- Identify opportunities for operational and workflow enhancements
- Communicate improvement ideas to engineering and leadership teams
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and efficiency gains
- Troubleshoot and resolve production downtime, nonconformances, and line stoppages
- Document downtime events, including frequency and duration, for analysis
- Support rapid resolution of production blockers on the manufacturing floor
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve recurring issues
- Design, build, and commission electromechanical tools and equipment for process improvement
- Support development and qualification of new manufacturing processes
- Assist in maintenance and improvement of manufacturing equipment
- Perform prototype builds with limited documentation and high autonomy
- Support R&D efforts and early‑stage manufacturing development
- Use precision hand tools and measurement equipment (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Create and update work instructions and process documentation
- Support creation and tracking of manufacturing performance metrics
- Use MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio) for reporting and analysis
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
- Minimum 6+ years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Proficient with hand tools and precision measurement tools
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in fast‑paced, rapidly changing manufacturing environments
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Ability to work required night/weekend/on‑call shifts as needed
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering or related field
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles
- Experience with manufacturing equipment design or development
- Electro‑mechanical system design or maintenance experience
- Experience creating and tracking performance metrics
- Strong professionalism and ability to represent the organization positively
