JOB SUMMARYCresco Labs is seeking a Machine Operator to join our Packaging team in Fall River, MA. This role reports to the Processing Supervisor and is responsible for the production and packaging of Cresco Labs preroll SKUs. Additionally, depending on demand, this role seeks to cross-train on other Packaging automation equipment including but not limited to, the Hightek flower line and Keepac edible pouch.
The Machine Operator will carry out day-to-day tasks including prepping, cleaning, operating, troubleshooting and documenting output for packaging machines, as well as monitoring equipment and consumable inventory in accordance with the State and standards set by Cresco Labs.
Machine Operation
Ensure accurate set up, safe & accurate operation and sanitary clean-up of Roll Pros Blackbird and other packaging machinery that may include: heat sealers, labelers, combination scales, indexing assembly lines, pouchers, etc.
Understand the process flow chart and individual machine operating parameters well enough to be able to produce products as required by established process specifications and efficiency requirements.
Operate equipment within established guidelines to ensure products meet quality standards; maintain awareness of quality and adjust process within specifications to attain high-quality products.
Remove defective product & packages from machine and rework into usable production units.
Maintain constant visual check on all areas of operation -- equipment, product, film, labels, packaging, etc. Report and correct any discrepancies or failures to Supervisor.
Facility CleaningPerform all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe, GMP production facility.
Ensure personal hygiene is acceptable under standards set by Cresco Labs before performing any production activities by washing hands, wearing a hair net, changing clothes, etc.
Complete the sanitation of all production equipment and tools including workspace, production and packaging equipment.
Inventory & DocumentationComplete audits on work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG) prerolls to ensure accurate inventory counts.
Fill out appropriate documentation such as Manufacturing Forms (MFs) and Packaging & Labeling Formulas (PLFs).
Monitor equipment consumables and notify Supervisor when reorders are required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS- Experience in a field and/or operation that adheres to strict health and safety policies and procedures, preferable a regulated field producing products for human consumption. Or, any satisfactory combination of experience and training which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the following duties.
- Strong effective task-management skills, ability to multi-task and adhere to strict policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
- Experience in operating machinery a plus.
- Effective communication skills; strong attention-to-detail.
- Ability to stand for at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds to torso level is necessary.
- Exercise and demonstrate cause and affect logic for troubleshooting.
