Position Summary
The primary responsibility of The Bridge Center Director is to maximize participation and visibility by conducting proactive outreach to justice‑involved individuals, their families, community partners, and referral sources. The Director will build strong relationships across Barnstable County, ensuring those who can benefit from The Bridge Center’s services know about it, feel welcome, and are supported in accessing resources.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness and participation in The Bridge Center.
- Build strong relationships with justice‑involved individuals, families, and referral sources (courts, probation, parole, law enforcement, community agencies).
- Conduct events, presentations, informational sessions, and community visits to promote The Bridge Center.
- Develop and coordinate communications, marketing materials, and social media updates in collaboration with Sheriff’s Office leadership.
- Track outreach efforts and measure engagement to ensure growth in the number of participants served.
- Represent The Bridge Center and the Sheriff’s Office at community events, resource fairs, and reentry‑related meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, criminal justice, marketing, communications or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in reentry services, case management, or human services with justice‑involved individuals.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of reentry challenges and available community resources.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and engage effectively with diverse populations, including families impacted by incarceration.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, data entry, case management systems).
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Lived experience with the justice system and/or peer recovery certification.
- Bilingual or multilingual ability.
- Familiarity with trauma‑informed care, motivational interviewing, and restorative practices.
- Work primarily conducted on‑site at The Bridge Center (3195 Main Street, Barnstable Village).
- Occasional off‑site community meetings, outreach, or events required.
- Schedule is a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours as may be needed to meet client or program needs.
- Ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
