Position SummaryDelivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within hospital policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards.
Responsibilities- Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients, maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
- Provides documentation of assessment of patients throughout admission, including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarizes assessment data and initiates plan of care communicating pertinent data to allied providers.
- Assumes role of charge nurse and demonstrates competence.
- Demonstrates proficiency in computerized nursing informatics (information systems).
- Serves as resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff.
- Participates in at least four-unit staff meetings per year; attends mandatory programs and obtains three hours of Patient Care Assessment Committee credit per year.
- Participates in identification of patient care aspects, indicators used to monitor quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assesses personal learning development needs; maintains documentation of professional development activities; stays current with techniques and regulations appropriate to patient age. Shows willingness to participate on nursing committees.
- Represents the hospital in the community and within the hospital, maintaining confidentiality and presenting services in a positive manner.
- Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Successful passage of CCH’s Pharmacology exam.
- Must read, write and communicate in English.
- BSN preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
28‑week training program in RN Residency & Transition. Various positions available:
Med Surg/Oncology/Stroke/Palliative/Surgical/Dialysis/Ortho/Neuro/Post‑Op/Surgery/Cardiac. Shifts may include 7 p‑7:30 a, 11 p‑7:30 a, 3 p‑11:30 p, rotating days, evening/night, weekend, and rotating holidays.
Hourly compensation range: $38.36 – $78.11 per hour.
