POSITION SUMMARY
As an RN on B-7, our Surgical/ Stepdown (PCC level) unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be able to deliver excellent care to surgical patients from a variety of specialties including orthopedics, vascular medicine, thoracic, bariatric and complex medicine. B-7 is a 30-bed unit with a skilled nursing staff, and candidates will work with our educators to ensure a robust orientation and training with a preceptor to ensure that you are prepared to optimal patient care.

36 Hours, 12 Hour Shifts, Night, Every 3rd Weekend
- Deliver nursing care in the B-7 unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
- Previous Med-Surg experience preferred.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation
- PCC certification preferred, training for PCC education will be offered as part of a plan for professional growth.
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language a plus.

$39.02 – $90.05 per hour.
