Job Summary
We are seeking per diem Hospice Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team at Hospice Services of Massachusetts in Barnstable County. As a Hospice CNA, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients in their homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This is an on-the-road position that requires a reliable, insured vehicle. $23 to $26.50 an hour with weekly pay.
Responsibilities- Perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet their personal needs and promote comfort
- Observe patient, report observations, and document observations and care performed
- Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within the realm of ethical and respectful care
- Meet the safety needs of the patient and use equipment safely and properly
- Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as ordered
- Provide proper care and observation of the patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominences
- Assess and report on the patient's condition and significant changes to appropriate team members
- Assist with ambulation, exercise, and normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed
- Assist with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as reminders
- Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals
- Help with light laundry needs and plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned
- Perform range-of-motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service
- Keep the patient's living area clean and orderly
- Must hold an active and unencumbered CNA license in Massachusetts
- Prior experience in hospice or home health preferred
