Job Description
Our client located on the South Shore of Massachusetts is seeking a second shift Quality Control Supervisor to join their growing manufacturing organization. This is a direct hire with a tremendous benefits package.
Position SummaryAs an expert of the process, you will monitor production on multiple lines while leading the QC Team. You are responsible to assure that company process and product quality is consistently achieving the highest levels possible to assure customer satisfaction. You will accomplish these standards in a dynamic, fast‑paced USDA, FDA food manufacturing facility. The position will be filled by an equal level position, or appropriately trained designee, in event of absence.
Qualifications- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, familiarity with statistics and control charts.
- Team leadership abilities and people skills that facilitate goal completion.
- Strong organoleptic abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and related programs; detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated, high energy, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable and flexible to meet seasonality demands of the business.
- Lead and motivate the Quality Control Team to achieve daily goals.
- Monitor and enforce quality control points using control charts and culinary ability.
- Carry out various batch control tests and product sampling to ensure process is in control.
- Develop and manage quality systems.
- Act as an extension of the Process Engineering Team.
- Develop, approve, and review specifications with R&D.
- Conduct sensory evaluation of key ingredients and attributes.
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis of key analytical data.
- Lead continuous improvement projects individually and as part of a team.
- Log data and report trends using gathered information.
- Communicate continuous improvement opportunities to Process Engineering.
- Create and communicate quality control reporting data.
- Communicate quickly and effectively with Process Coordinator and production management.
- Builds relationships at all levels, manages conflict, practices early intervention, resolves issues early.
- Communicates effectively, inspires trust and teamwork, motivates others.
- Analyzes problems effectively, demonstrates sound ethical decision‑making.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Statistics, Culinary field or equivalent.
- 2+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in a food environment.
- Quality certification/training/experience preferred.
- Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume.
- Apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
Experience with standard office software and manufacturing data analysis tools.
