An innovative, publicly listed clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with operations in both Asia and the United States is seeking a Vice President / Head of Peptide Chemistry to lead next-generation peptide conjugate research and platform development.
The company is focused on developing innovative therapeutics across oncology, metabolic disease, and CNS disorders, leveraging advanced small molecule and oligonucleotide technologies. With multiple clinical-stage assets and expanding global R&D capabilities, the organization is building differentiated platforms in targeted delivery and conjugate therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities- Lead strategy and scientific direction for peptide-conjugate platforms, including peptide-oligonucleotide and related conjugate technologies
- Oversee research from molecular design and synthesis through optimization and candidate selection
- Drive innovation across oncology and metabolic disease programs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with biology, pharmacology, DMPK, CMC, and preclinical teams
- Build and mentor a high-performing peptide chemistry team
- Evaluate emerging technologies, external innovation opportunities, and scientific collaborations
- Contribute to IP strategy, platform expansion, and long-term R&D planning
- Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmacy, or related discipline
- Significant experience in peptide therapeutics, conjugate chemistry, or oligonucleotide delivery platforms within innovative biotech/pharma environments
- Strong expertise in peptide design, medicinal chemistry optimization, and drug discovery technologies
- Experience with AI/CADD-enabled drug design is highly desirable
- Proven leadership track record advancing discovery programs into development
- Excellent English communication and international collaboration skills
