The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chestnut Hill, MA, responsible for supporting overall store operations and delivering an elevated customer experience. This role assists in leading and motivating the store team, including coaching associates, managing daily floor activities, and ensuring that brand standards are consistently met. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales through client engagement, product knowledge, visual merchandising, and execution of promotional activities.
Daily tasks include overseeing opening and closing procedures, monitoring inventory levels, supporting loss prevention efforts, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. The role also collaborates with store leadership on scheduling, training, performance feedback, and fostering an inclusive, team-oriented culture aligned with Lilly Pulitzer’s brand values.
- Experience in retail or customer-facing environments, with demonstrated skills in client service, relationship building, and sales support.
- Foundational leadership abilities, including team coaching, delegation, conflict resolution, and contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace.
- Operational and organizational skills, such as managing store procedures, handling cash and POS systems, supporting inventory control, and maintaining visual standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to stand and move on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and reliability, with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Interest in fashion, resort wear, and the Lilly Pulitzer brand aesthetic; prior experience in fashion or specialty retail is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in retail management, business, or a related field is beneficial.
