Job Overview
Repligen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Specialist – Engineered Systems – to sell a portfolio of downstream, upstream, and single‑use engineered systems and software solutions across the East Coast of the United States, preferably based in the Northeast. The role is home‑office based with 50% travel and reports to the Director, Integrated Systems.
Responsibilities- Promote and sell chromatographic, tangential flow filtration, and continuous bioprocessing solutions, articulating Repligen’s value proposition.
- Develop and execute a regional management plan in collaboration with the Regional Sales Director and Global BSS Leader.
- Design customized and modular engineered solutions for upstream and downstream bioprocessing customers.
- Review and support customer URS preparation; prepare proposals based on customer requirements.
- Negotiate sales agreements with technical and procurement departments.
- Drive the sales process through territory account managers to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets.
- Establish and maintain strategic key‑account relationships; develop new target accounts in conjunction with territory account managers.
- Support customers as they progress through the clinical pipeline from lab‑scale to full‑process scale solutions.
- Provide accurate and timely sales reporting and forecasting using a market‑leading CRM tool.
- Maintain contact with key bioprocessing infrastructure partners, identifying new sales and business opportunities.
- Interface with Business and Market Development to ensure accurate sharing of product, market, and competitive information.
- Support the development of sales collateral, and provide manufacturing and QA/QC operations with timely information for forecasting, complaint handling, and facility audits.
- Execute all aspects of field sales activity, including customer visits, technical presentations, quote preparation, and negotiation.
- Attend, manage, and follow up on trade‑show activities.
- Minimum BEng or BSc in Biochemical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Deep knowledge of engineered systems for chromatography and filtration; strong understanding of these unit operations is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of engineering control platforms (e.g., Alan Bradley, Delta
V, Siemens) is beneficial. - Proven successful sales track record and key‑account management experience.
- Proficiency in understanding engineering documentation and drawings.
- Excellent analytical and forecasting skills.
- Strong ability to build mutually beneficial, personable, trusting relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
