21st Century Wine Co. is a fine wine and spirits distributor serving the Massachusetts market with a portfolio spanning 17+ countries and a curated spirits selection. We are seeking an Account Manager to develop and grow a territory of on- and off-premise accounts, re‑engaging lapsed accounts, and building net‑new business across the assigned territory. The ideal candidate understands the Massachusetts three‑tier system, is comfortable presenting a diverse portfolio to buyers, and thrives on building long‑term account relationships rather than one‑time transactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and grow an assigned territory of licensed retain and on‑premise accounts
- Maintain a specific route and visit cadence, prioritizing active accounts, lapsed accounts, and new business development.
- Present and sell the Company’s portfolio across wine and spirits, matching products to each account’s needs and clientele.
- Conduct tastings, staff trainings, and product education at accounts in compliance with ABCC regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of account activity, call reports, and sales pipeline in Company systems.
- Achieve sales targets and report results honestly on a weekly cadence.
- Build and protect long‑term relationships with buyers, owners and key decision makers.
- Prior experience in alcohol sales, distribution or hospitality strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of MA three‑tier system (ABCC compliance a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage a book of business
- Motivated, self‑starter, who is organized and comfortable managing a field territory independently
- Must be 21 years or older, valid drivers license
- Strong product knowledge a plus
