Responsibilities- Contact prospects and clients in person, by telephone, and via email to provide consultative advice about recommended coverages.
- Prepare proposals, complete applications, calculate and quote premium rates, and explain policy features and benefits.
- Collect premium deposits and record payments.
- Assist in the solicitation and account management of employer‑based worksite marketing opportunities and related association sales activities.
- Counsel and advise customers on risk exposures, coverages, policy types, and specific coverage enhancements; confirm recommendations in writing and resolve general customer inquiries.
- Provide customer service and support within the agency on an as‑needed basis.
- Achieve established sales production goals.
- Ensure new business meets the agency’s standards for acceptable business to maintain profitable loss ratios.
- Perform annual customer account reviews to upsell and improve retention.
- Update the agency management system to document client interactions and protect the agency from E&O issues.
- Follow established workflow and documentation standards; follow up on suspense items promptly.
- Become proficient with technology tools and applications to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare regular reports detailing sales and other activities as requested.
- Maintain proper insurance licensing and positive relationships with customers and co‑workers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- No prior insurance experience required.
- Strong community ties, professional networks, and personal relationships.
- Backgrounds such as mortgage lending, real estate, banking, financial services, or military experience are common and valued.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required insurance licensing.
- Excellent communication, sales, and customer‑service skills.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently within a team environment.
Variable compensation structure that includes commissions. Base salary range: $45,000‑$50,000, with first‑year projected earnings of at least $65,000 including commissions. 37.5 hours per week.
