Diesel Mechanic Class A Technician; 3rd Shift

Position Details

• $34.10 - $44.35 per hour depending on experience – $5,000 Sign On Bonus

  Thursday–Saturday 5:30 pm – 5:30 am and Wednesday 11:30 pm – 5:30 am

Responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, converter dolly, and maintenance vehicles under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations. Communicate and interact with co‑workers. Technicians are responsible for documentation, completion, and maintenance of work orders for all repairs and parts used daily. The position requires performing road call services as needed.

• Complete and perform preventative maintenance and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units); identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other key parts to ensure proper operating condition; replace parts as necessary.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before being declared "roadworthy."
• Document work orders for repairs and preventative maintenance via the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments; use power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, and hoists.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Train other employees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Required experience:

5 to 7 years proving medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair including preventative maintenance, tire & wheel, air & brake systems, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in A/C refrigeration.
