Maintenance & Repair Technician

Overview

The Barnstable County Dredge Department is accepting applications for the full-time position of a Maintenance & Repair Tech. This is the ultimate "Mac Gyver" job. High school education and proven experience with diesel, gas and outboard engines, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, marine electrical systems, and welding. Work includes the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment used by the department.

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on department equipment, from changing oil to replacing fittings and managing spare parts.

• A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to/from the job site.
• Ability to acquire a hydraulic license (Class 2A) within the first year of employment.
• Must be able to travel to each project site using department vehicles on Cape Cod.
• Must be able to work Saturdays as needed (with overtime during the dredge season – September through May).
• Must be able to tolerate conditions on the water, vibrations, heat, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
