Equipment Operator

Southcoast Health, a not‑for‑profit health system serving southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA.

Hours:

40 hours per week.

Shift: Flexible shifts across day, evening, and night rotations with weekends and holidays.

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Facilities, perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems throughout the facility, including:

• Inspection of mechanical areas, equipment, and piping systems.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment and systems.
• Repairing, calibrating, and functionally testing equipment and systems.
• Recommending corrective actions and solutions.
• Reading, recording, and interpreting data and readings.
• Operating the hospital energy management systems.
• Performing water and chemical testing of cooling towers and HVAC systems, and adding necessary chemical treatments.

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of trade school education.
• Massachusetts Second Class Fireman’s boiler license.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and an electronic work order system.
• Proficient troubleshooting and diagnosing building equipment and systems.
• Routine maintenance of equipment and parts.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and equipment assembly.
• Three (3) years experience in steam power plant operations and general hospital/healthcare maintenance.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19, or be exempt by providing a medical or personal statement.

Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range: USD $27.67 – $46.52 per hour.
