- Make contributions to the team using proper software and data engineering practices.
- Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions.
- Help design and implement a data platform with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement and maintain ETL pipelines in Spark, SQL, and Python with automated testing based on the requirements.
- Participate in code and design reviews.
- Convert business needs and functional specifications into detailed technical specifications for data pipelines and systems.
- Assist in supporting production issues; this role will be subject to on‑call responsibilities (mainly during business hours, with occasional nights and weekends).
- Follow CMT's development and operational standards and processes.
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in Computer Science or a related field.
- Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to participate in the team's on‑call rotation.
- Ability to perform general development tasks on Linux and macOS.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies (specifically SCRUM).
- Basic knowledge of issue tracking systems (specifically Jira).
- Ability to commute to the Cambridge, MA office three days per week.
- Some professional engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with data pipelines preferred.
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, and Redshift.
- Experience creating and maintaining Terraform infrastructure-as-code and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience containerizing services using Docker.
- Experience with instrumentation, correlation tracking, and statistics using Datadog.

The base salary range for this position is $92,900 to $116,100, specifically for Cambridge, MA.
