Supply Technician
The Supply Technician shall requisition aircraft parts, engines, and support equipment for use on all assigned aircraft under contract to Amentum. They will use Uniform Source, Maintenance and Recoverability (SM&R) codes to identify the source of parts and the levels of maintenance authorized to maintain, repair, overhaul or condemn them; and prepare supply documentation for proper identification of repairable items passed to authorized repair maintenance levels.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Perform limited aspects of technical supply management work (inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) related to depot or local supply activities.
- Segment tasks by commodity area or function and maintain control in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
- Handle individual case problems or supply actions within stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations.
- Apply governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, and guidelines to determine proper handling of parts and equipment.
- Manage inventory of decentralized and decontrolled items, including low‑unit or annual demand supplies with short procurement lead times.
- Perform requirements determination, forecasting, distribution, procurement authorization, and limited funds management.
- Coordinate material duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops.
- Write item descriptions for new items entering the supply channels and select appropriate description patterns.
- Review existing catalogs, manufacturers’ catalogs, drawings, or other resources to match characteristics or part numbers and identify duplicates.
- Work within established supply regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate with operating officials regarding inventory requirements and descriptions of less complex items new to the system.
- Consult with commercial firms or government agencies to obtain information on new items, characteristics, or procurement lead times.
- Minimum of 3 years actual and recent experience in requisitioning, receipting, storage, issuing, and handling of supplies and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance, qualifications, or certifications; honorable discharge if previously released from military service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to work all assigned shifts and schedules, and to walk and stand on level or inclined surfaces, climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands; capable of crouching, crawling, grasping, finger dexterity, bending elbow/knee, reaching above/below shoulders; capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
- Preferred: overall knowledge of a complete supply system, including research, stock control, demand processing, issuing, storage, and handling of supplies and equipment. May be required to perform off‑site service on assigned detachments.
May work in aircraft maintenance hangars or outdoors, responding to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. Exposure to extreme noise, fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, or moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft is possible.
