Aircraft Logs & Records Clerk

The Aircraft Logs & Records Clerk is responsible for the management and sustainment of all aircraft logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records, aircraft maintenance files, records and reports, directives and correspondence in an aircraft maintenance and operations environment in accordance with CNAFINST 4790.2 series and applicable instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize current management information systems to maintain aircraft forms and records as required by customer.
  • Draft and submit aircraft/engine management and Inventory Reporting System reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, yearly reports as assigned.
  • Process readiness documents, administer the aircraft configuration status accounting program, and verify aircraft utilization reports.
  • Monitor aircraft configuration status, weight and balance, and aircraft inventory data for accuracy.
  • Initiate and distribute applicable maintenance forms in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of the Monthly Maintenance Plan.
  • Monitor, verify and log Support Equipment Custody records, Aviation Armament Equipment, aircraft inventory records and Technical Directives.
  • Maintain work‑center technical publication annex library as required.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
  • Perform data processing, data entry and administrative support using NALCOMIS, OOMA, FAME, IMDS, CETADS and CEMS.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center.
  • Present a courteous and professional demeanor with customers and co‑workers.
  • Comply with FOD, Hazardous Waste Program, Tool Control Programs and all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Logs and Records Work Center Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of aviation clerical experience in maintaining aircraft logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records and associated logs.
  • Completion of U.S. Armed Forces Logs and Records courses or equivalent curriculum, or 2 years of on‑the‑job training/experience.
  • Ability to meet Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Experience with automated management information systems (OOMA, NALCOMIS, FAME, IMDS, CETADS, CEMS) highly desired.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior military personnel must present a DD214 with honorable discharge.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work all assigned shifts & schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with U.S. Navy and/or FAA aircraft logbooks and documentation.
  • Knowledge of F/A‑18 (A‑F models), EA‑18G, E‑2C, F‑16A/B, and/or MH‑60S.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft logbooks, maintenance records, technical manuals, publications and forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
  • Strong English reading, writing, comprehension and communication skills.
  • Hazardous Waste Communications Training, FOD and TCP Awareness, NALCOMIS Training, ORM Training, Weight and Balance Certification.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily in an office environment with occasional work in aircraft hangars and shop areas.
  • May handle hazardous materials and require occasional kneeling, standing, stooping and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and keyboard input.
  • May require travel in support of detachments of unknown duration.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $46.10 (Hourly rate set by CBA)
