Position SummaryThe Attendant Care Worker at the Learn and Play Therapeutic Center delivers one-to-one, interactive, community-based mental health services to preschool-aged children utilizing a strengths-based, and skill building philosophy in the areas of problem solving, social skills, personal relationships and health/hygiene. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Provides support to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance individually and in group setting as they develop new skills to increase daily functioning.
- Supports individual clients during crisis situations to aid with symptom reduction, stabilization and restoration to their ability to re-join their peers.
- Works in a fast-paced environment in conjunction with other staff.
- Coordinates with other staff members to facilitate the treatment plan outlined for the client by the managing clinician.
- Plans, organizes, and implements curriculum to support the use of new skills in working with peers, expressing emotions in a healthy manner, and problem-solving obstacles.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of service provisions reflecting appropriate interventions, service types, and progress towards goals.
- Provides transportation when necessary to clients.
- Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days. - Other duties as assigned.

- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age and at least three years older than the youth.
- One or more years of experience working with children.
Education and Experience
- Two years’ experience working with adults or children in a health-related field.
- Experience working in a KDHE facility.
- Within 30 days of employment the employee must have completed Attendant Care on-line training, KHS on-line training, pass KBI, DCF Health Assessment, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance and a dependable vehicle.
