Our Physical Therapy residency offers sponsorship for the Orthopedic Specialty Certification (OSC) in partnership with Regis University and is tailored for therapists eager to enhance their clinical skills and provide high‑quality orthopedic care.
Residents gain experience with a diverse range of patients while working full‑time as part of our team in one of our rural facilities. They receive dedicated one‑on‑one mentoring sessions with an orthopedic specialist totaling over 150 hours.

The Banner Lassen Medical Center, located in Susanville, northeast California, offers comprehensive care in a state‑of‑the‑art facility with 25 beds. The hospital provides advanced imaging, infusion, respiratory and cardiopulmonary services, laboratory services, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and a 24‑hour emergency department. The surrounding area provides recreational activities such as fishing, camping, golfing, hiking, and skiing.
Position SummaryThis residency program provides structured training to eligible physical therapy residents or specialty certification enrollees to become confident and competent specialty‑certified clinical physical therapists. Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, administration, and supervision of physical therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national standards, regulatory agencies, and departmental policies and procedures. The role demonstrates clinical competence to provide treatment appropriate to patient age and condition, participates in educational activities, applies performance‑improvement principles, and contributes to facility and system committees as appropriate.
The resident must assess patient data to identify needs and provide care accordingly, adhering to all local, state, and federal laws governing the profession of physical therapy.
